On This Day: White T-Shirt Day

White t-shirt dayOne may think that’d we’d argue to make this day a national holiday, but we’ve done our research.  In fact, White T-Shirt Day really has nothing to do with the printing or promotional industry.  The holiday commemorates the General Motors strike of 1937.  As a result, General Motors recognized the United Auto Workers Union.  As a symbol of their unity, the autoworkers all wore a white shirt or blouse.  Since then the holiday has developed several variations, including White T-Shirt Day.
