Cassius gets a belly rub“Can we get a dog? Mommy can we get a dog?! Can we? Can we?! CAN WE?!”  Sound familiar?  April 26th is National Kids and Pets Day.  Many of us grew up with a pet that we loved, cared for, and sometimes drove a little nuts!  National Kids and Pets Day recognizes the strong bond between children and their pets.  Whether it’s a dog, a cat, a fish, or your pet rock, we’re sure there was a pet in your life that was very special to you while you were growing up.  Take a moment to reflect on your favorite pet and remember that there are a thousands of pets just waiting to be taken home from shelters across the country.  Go ahead, get the kids a dog!  You can thank us for it later.
