Let’s get straight to the point… we can do this! September 15th is a day that Downtown Printwear has you covered. It’s Make a Hat Day! Forget the fact that it’s also Felt Hat Day. We can incorporate that into this celebration. So what type of hat do you want to make? The opportunities are limitless! But here are some ideas to get you started:
Dolla dolla bills ya’ll! The value of a dollar may be falling faster than the popularity of silly bands but we can’t imagine life without it. On August 8th, 1786, Congress established the United States monetary system. If not for National Dollar Day we may be bartering 2 goats and a cat for those coveted U2 tickets (ok, that may be alot to give up for 1 show). Love it or hate it, it’s all about the benjamins!
Odie Day
Other Holidays:
The Date to Create –
Happiness Happens Day
Odie Day – remember Garfield’s good buddy?
National Zucchini Day
Sneak Some Zucchini onto your Neighbor’s Porch Night – now this has gone too far!
National Frozen Custard Day
Birthdays:
Roger Federer (30)
J.C. Chasez, N Sync(35), his career has gone “Bye, Bye, Bye“
June 17th has to be one of the best (and most celebrated) holidays of the year! Today is National Flip Flop Day. Whether you’re sporting those crazy gladiator sandals or the cheap $4 flip flops from Old Navy just make sure you’re footwear fits the holiday theme. Obviously the weather needs to cooperate in order to truly appreciate the value of flip flops, but we know some of you could care less about the weather. You’ll rock flip flops in the middle of Winter because that’s how you roll! Plus, if there’s one thing we suggest our college students don’t leave home without: flip flops (plus a back up pair just in case!)
Other Holidays:
Dump the Pump Day – sick of high gas prices? Dump the pump!
National Apple Strudel Day
National Day of Prayer for Law Enforcement Officers
Stewart’s Root Beer Day – something about root beer out of a bottle is just so much better!
World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought
Work at Home Father’s Day – because regular Father’s Day just wasn’t enough!
National Cherry Tart Day – these guys are up against a tough battle with apple strudels today!
We all looked forward to recess while in school. Why shouldn’t we be able to look forward to it while at work? Some of you watched this morning as Boston Bruins fans took a “recess” from work to greet the players as they arrived back in Beantown. June 16th isn’t just a holiday we should celebrate today, it’s a holiday we should celebrate every work day!
Other Holidays:
National Fudge Day – peanut butter chocolate has to be the best! What do you think?
Ladies Day (Baseball) – bust out the pink hats!
Bloomsday – it’s legit, check it out! Apparently it’s “cool” to be “uncool”.
It’s seems pretty simple – brew tea then put it on ice. Right? Not quite. The World’s Fair in St. Louis, 1904, is credit with “inventing” iced tea. This was long before the other Iced-T debuted and there are few similarities between the two. Both are pretty popular – one for its refreshing qualities and the other for its endless SVU re-runs every weekend. We give the edge to iced tea. June 10th we celebrate National Iced Tea Day.
Other Holidays:
Herb & Spice Day – how about spiced-iced-tea day. Brilliant!
Ball Point Pen Day – personally the fountain pen seems more classy if you ask us.
Birthdays:
Sasha Obama (10)
Kate Upton (19)
Elizabeth Hurley (46) – does she ever age?
John Edwards (59) – the most hated man in America? It’s between him and LeBron.
Judy Garland (1922-1969) – “there’s no place like home…there’s no place like home!”
