Let’s get straight to the point… we can do this! September 15th is a day that Downtown Printwear has you covered. It’s Make a Hat Day! Forget the fact that it’s also Felt Hat Day. We can incorporate that into this celebration. So what type of hat do you want to make? The opportunities are limitless! But here are some ideas to get you started:
The difference between can and cannot are only three letters. Three letters that determine your life’s direction.
September 13th is Positive Thinking Day. Nobody likes a pessimist, except other pessimists. Being around positive people puts you in a better mood and has been proven to produce better outcomes. Try waking up in the morning and thinking just one positive thought. If you start your day with something positive there’s a better likelihood it will continue throughout the day. Stuck in traffic on the way to work? Who cares! It could be a lot worse. At least you have a job. Think positive. Be positive.
Other Holidays:
National Defy Superstition Day – so Fortune Cookie Day means nothing…remember that!
Fortune Cookie Day
International Chocolate Day – this could get ugly…
Now we normally wouldn’t suggest this, but today may be a good day to ask for a raise. If it wasn’t National Boss/Employee Exchange Day we’d tell you otherwise, only because it’s Monday and that’s traditionally the worst day of the week to ask. The objective of this celebration is to encourage one another to share respective points of view. There isn’t anything that says you need to agree on those points, so don’t come blaming us if you’re without a job tomorrow! At least we tried…
How would you survive if you couldn’t read “On This Day” on a daily basis? Life would be difficult – just as it is for millions around world each day. International Literacy Day was created by the United Nations to promote literacy within communities. Take a moment to educate your community. For more information, visit the International Reading Association website.
Other Holidays:
Pardon Day – falls on the day President Nixon was pardoned
National Date-Nut Bread Day
World Physical Therapy Day – recognizes the work physical therapists do for their patients and the community
Mother Nature is a bitch! Don’t toy with us on a holiday like today. Ok, we’re being a little selfish. Neither Rain Nor Snow Day is intended to recognize the mail couriers whose motto is carved on the New York post office – “Neither snow nor rain not heat nor gloom of night ,stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” We hate to be a pain, but we don’t see any mention of: hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, or earthquakes. Call us hard-asses, but someone has to hold people responsible. We can’t just go naming holidays after every occupation – like Google Commemoration Day! Oops… p.s. Happy Birthday Google!
Other Holidays:
Salami Day – we may not know what it’s made of, but it sure tastes good!
Grandma Moses Day – she started painting at the age of 78!
National Acorn Squash Day
Birthdays:
Shannon Elizabeth (38) i.e. “The Girl from American Pie”
